The revitalization project for the Santa Fe Byway has been completed and ready to be unveiled to the community. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Santa Fe Byway Trail located at Walnut Avenue, east of A Street (at the new picnic pavilion). The City is excited to share the completion of this project which was funded in part by a Clean California Grant. The Santa Fe Byway (formerly known as Rails-to-Trails) runs north to south between Henderson Avenue and Walnut Avenue along the old Santa Fe Railway just east of Downtown Porterville. The trail improvements vastly improve the conditions of the existing public space and provide enhanced pedestrian connectivity to many planned and exiting destinations throughout the community.
